Who doesn’t like a big lens? As basically everyone does his own version of an oversized mono-lens cycling glasses nowadays, I wanted to throw my idea into the ring as well. If you know the market, you might remember this shape from a well-known sports apparel brand. My idea was to make a different type of frame design for the existing lens.
The frame of this glasses is made of semi translucent plastics with a polycarbonate lens. The frame itself consists of three parts. Two of which are the temples and the main part, the frame for the lens. The joint is very simple 90 degree with stop. In case of a crash, the temples are able to break out of the joint without any damage to them. This ensures a long live of the glasses.
