That's what some might say about steel framed bikes. If it's true or not, everyone need to answer for him/herself. Fact is, steel is quite a nice material and you can make really nice and beautiful frames with it. Especially since we're able to print quite decent quality steel parts.
So my idea was to make a steel version of my previously developed Enduro 165. Some parts will be 3D-printend, such as the Headtube, Bottom bracket-area, Dropouts ans various small parts. Thanks to those parts I was able to keep most of the caracteristic lines of the Frame. Most important part was the Bottom bracket-area. It contends the main pivot, bottom bracket and the lower shock mount, as well as cable guides. Another part that got my attention was the joint between the top tube and steat tube. This is also a caracteristic area in my previously developed bikes.
Overall this steel framed enduro bike has compact and playful geometry. Together with the progressive suspension and an 180mm fork this will make the perfect fun bike for bikeparks and jump-lines.

Ein Spruch den man öfter von Stahl-Rad Enthusiasten hört. Ob das so stimmt muss jeder für sich selbst beantworten. Es stimmt allerdings, dass Stahl ein tolles Material is um Fahrradrahmen zu bauen. Die möglichkeit hochwertige Teile nun auch aus Stahl 3D zu drucken bringt neue Möglichkeiten, muss aber auch sinnvoll eingesetzt werden.
Die grundsätzliche Idee war es eine Stahl-Variante des Enduro 165 zu machen, welches ich zuvor entwickelt und designed habe. Einzelne Teile wie etwa Headtube, Tretlagerbereich, Ausfallende sowie andere Kleinteile werden 3D gedruckt. Der Rest bleibt recht Klassisch. Dadurch wird das charakteristische Grunddesign des Rahmens erhalten. Mit einer der wichtigsten Bereiche ist der Tretlagerbereich. Er beinhaltet neben der Aufnahme fürs Tretlager auch den Hauptdrehpunkt des Hinterbaus, die untere Dämpferaufnahme sowie Kabelführungen und die ISCG Aufnahme. Ein weiteres Teil welches so nur mit 3D Druck umgesetzt werden kann ist der charakteristische Übergang vom Oberrohr zum Sitzrohr. Es beinhaltet auch gleich die Sattelstützen Klemme.
Generell hat das Stahl Enduro eine sehr kompakte, verspielte Geometrie. Zusammen mit der progressiven Auslegung des Hinterbaus und einer 180mm Federgabel ergibt das ein perfektes Spaß-Bike für den Bikepark oder die Jumpline.
