CITY BIKE
No Chain, no belt,
no maintainance
Project City-Bike was a short project in my leisure time. I came up with the idea when I stumbled upon an original Cless&Plessing bike that had a drive shaft. No chain, no belt, but a completely enclosed system integrated I the frame. At the beginning of the 20th century that wasn’t new, but I still liked the idea very much. So I decided to take that very intention of the Cless&Plessing Noricum from 1901 and bring it into the 21st century. My concept has an electric motor in the rear hub, a visible battery just above the BB as well as a full carbon frame. Added to that is a fully integrated cockpit with daytime running light and vibration absorption plus a sporty but comfortable geometry.
Das City-Bike-Projekt war ein kurzes Freizeitprojekt. Die Idee dazu kahm mir als ich im Internet über ein original Cless&Plessing Rad mit Kardanantrieb stolperte. Keine Kette, auch kein Riemen, sondern ein komplett geschlossenes System in den Rahmen integriert. Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts war das zwar nicht neu, aber trotzdem fand ich diese Idee spannend. So wollte ich ein Fahrrad entwickeln welches dieselben Intentionen wie das Cless&Plessing Noricum von 1901. Angepasst an das 21. Jahrhundert hat mein Entwurf einen E-Antrieb mit zentralem Akku, Nabenmotor und einem Carbonrahmen. Voll integriertes Cockpit mit Tagfahrlicht und Vibrationsdämpfung sowie eine sportliche, doch komfortable Geometrie.
